About the Council

Founded on February 28, 2019, by Dr. Zaven Koloyan, the Council operates as a public health organization and the definitive voice for doctors in the republic. We serve as a critical consultative body for national health authorities, actively shaping medical licensing, advancing ethical standards, and driving the ongoing digital transformation of Armenian healthcare.

Recertification Cycle

Official Credentials

Issuance of the Certificate of Good Standing (CGS), Certificate of Current Professional Status (CCPS), and the national Registration Certificate (Health License).

International Verification

Primary Source Verification (PSV) and secure credential transmission to global regulators including the GMC (UK), Medical Council of Canada, and UAE authorities.

Legal & Public Support

Accredited legal translation of medical diplomas and maintenance of the open-access National Medical Registry to ensure public trust and transparency.

Practitioner Registration Process

Registration with the Council is the mandatory, statutory process for evaluating and authorizing healthcare professionals to practice safely and legally in Armenia.

Initial assessment of foundational medical degrees and recognized diplomas.

2. Clinical Specialization

Rigorous evaluation of residency certificates and specialized training.

3. Advanced Qualifications

Digital dossier review of CME records and primary source verification.

Licensing & Education

Aligned with the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Medical Care". Independent practice requires state certification. Practitioners must undergo mandatory recertification every 5 years by accumulating legally required CME credits.

Professional Rights & Mobility

The framework guarantees proper working conditions and protects dignity. Foreign-trained doctors enjoy equal professional rights provided their diplomas pass state Nostrification and competency evaluation.
